A Day with Dutchess
Life Lessons from a Blind Therapy Dog

Dutchess is a blind therapy dog with a gentle and joyful heart. In A Day with Dutchess, she shows her canine friend Droopy how small actions can make a world of difference. Through simple, clear text and vibrant illustrations Dutchess brings to life her daily adventures. Join them as they work with children at the local autism center, sample treats at their favorite pet boutique and organize an adoption fair to help lonely cats and dogs find their loving forever homes.

Prior to the hereditary illness that claimed her eyesight in 2011, Dutchess worked with children with autism and was featured in The New York Times and The Bark. Though her loving owner Mark Condon was unsure how Dutchess would react after surgery, he was grateful that her gregarious personality remained unchanged and she was able to continue her therapy work.

Now in this recently released children’s picture book, children, parents, and teachers can see and share the lessons that Dutchess brings. Dutchess's example inspires children and adults to help each other, every day in their own community. Dutchess’ zest for life and triumph over adversity shines through, teaching our little ones that helping others is important, rewarding, and a great way to embrace life.!
